Un poquito de Nueva York A bit of New York through my Iphone

El año pasado como en esta epoca tuve la suerte de ir a New York. Fue un viaje espontaneo que se dio gracias a que una de mis primas vino de visita desde El Salvador y deseaba conocer la ciudad. El viaje fue de un dia y lo unico que lamento fue el clima, ya que estaba haciendo mucho frio, nublado y por la tarde tubimos lluvia.  Aparte de eso estubo bien, tuvimos la oportunidad de ir a Manhattan, Central Park, y un poco de el Barrio Chino, que fue donde queriamos comprar algunos recuerditos.
Ojala y se me pueda dar la oportunidad de ir otra vez, sobre todo en verano y con mas tiempo.
Desde donde yo vivo en Virginia toma aproximadamente 4 horas llegar a New York, esa es la razon por la cual ir por solo un dia no vale la pena aparte que es bien cansado.

Last year around this time I had the opportunity to go to New York. It was a spontaneous trip that happened thanks to one of my cousins that came to visit from El Salvador and wanted to see the city. The trip was only for one day and the only thing that I was not happy with was the weather since it was cold, foggy and it rained. Other than that, everything was fine. We got the chance to go to Central Park, Manhattan, and Chinatown in which we wanted to get some souvenirs.
Hopefully and I can be able to go again, this time with a good weather and mostly time.
From where I live in Virginia it takes approximately 4 hours to get to New York, that it is the reason why going only for one day it is not worth it, besides that it is very tiredly.

Star Wars Guerra de las Galaxias. Mi pequeña collection My small collection

Esta pasado Diciembre me di a la tarea de conseguir mis propios regalos de Navidad, y que mejor presente que unas figuritas de la Guerra de las Galaxias. Sin ofender a todos esos amantes de esta saga, yo no soy una experta, pero si tengo un poco de conocimiento el suficiente para mi edad, y por haber nacido en los 80's puedo decir que formo parte de esa generacion. En fin, cuando encontre estas "figuras de coleccion" por que se que no se le pueden llamar jugetes, me enamoré. Por suerte para mi, estamos en una area de Virginia donde es lo bastante comercial, por lo tanto las tiendas por departamento estan en cada esquina. La tienda Ross es una de mis favoritas, no solo por que es la mas barata, si no tambien por los tesoros que se pueden encontrar en ellas. La cantidad de jugetes que ellos tiene en la epoca navideña es grande, y fuè ahí donde los encontre. Los precios fueron un chiste, $20 por las 10 naves, y $15 por la estrella de la muerte, increible verdad?
A pesar de tener un niño de 9 años en casa, el no se siente tan curioso de esta saga. Me imagino que estas nuevas generaciones les toma mas tiempo seguirles la secuencia, yo nose, pero eso no me intimido a comprarme las figuras para mi. Y como lo espere, el no penso que fueran para el. Asi que puedo decir que son solo mios y que fue unos de los mejores regalos de navidad que consegui en el 2017.

This last December I took the time to get my own Christmas Gifs, and what a better gift than some Star Wars figures. Without offending those that love the saga, I am not an expert but I have some knowledge according to with my age, because I born in the 80's so I can say that I belong to that generation. Anyway, when I found these figures, because I know I can not call them toys, I fall in love. Luckily for me, we live in an area where we have a lot of retail stores everywhere. The one that I like the most it is Ross store not just because it is the cheapest one, also for all the treasures that they have. The amount of toys that they get for the holidays is huge, and it was at Ross at that time when I found them. The prices were like a joke, $20 for the 10 ships and $15 for the Death Star, incredible right?
Despite having a 9 years old boy at the house, he isn't that curious about the saga. I guess the new generations take more time to get the sequences, I do not know, but that did not intimidate me to get them for me. And as I thought, he did not think they were for him. So I can say that they are just for me and that certainly they are the best gift that I got in 2017.

West End Alexandria Time Travels

After a couple of months of very cold weather, gray days, rain, and just with the feeling to stay in the house warm and cuddle, we finally have a sunny day. This time I wanted to share this Mural call " West End Alexandria Time Travels" that represent some of the important parts of Alexandria City, like City Hall, Fort Ward Park, and the Van Dorn Street Metro Station. The mural is located in a very busy street that connects some important streets like Edsall Rd and Van Dor Street. The 300 feet long mural was painted by two local artist Cindy Wallace and Len Garon and was released in November 2017. 

I think the mural gives an interesting view of the street that it is surrounded by businesses, stores, and heavy traffic. 

Después de un par de meses de un clima muy frío, días grises, lluvia y simplemente con la sensación de estar en la casa calientitos y abrigados, finalmente tenemos un día soleado. Esta vez quise compartir este Mural llamado "West End Alexandria Time Travels" que representa algunas de las partes importantes de la ciudad de Alexandria, como City Hall, Fort Ward Park y la estación de metro Van Dor Street. El mural está ubicado en una calle muy transitada que conecta algunas calles importantes como Edsall Rd y Van Dor Street. El mural de 300 pies de largo fue pintado por dos artistas locales Cindy Wallace y Len Garon, y fue lanzado en noviembre de 2017. Creo que el mural ofrece una vista interesante de la calle que está rodeada de negocios, tiendas y mucho tráfico.
