Cherry Blossom 2018

Los Cerezos 2018

After a very long winter, Cherry Blossom season finally arrived.
For me, it is like a sign that the weather is getting better, and with that, that better things are about to come, this is the moment when I can really say that a new year is happening.
Looking for the best day to go to DC to see them it is like a  challenge, everything depends on the weather, this year has been terrible cold, and I am sure that since I moved here in 2008 I had never experience to have so many cold days. Thank God, for us, it was just cold and not snow as it happened in other states, that it is why I keep saying that Virginia it is a nice place to live.
The day that I decide to go and see these beauties it was on April 10, that was supposed to be the last week in which the blossoms would look the best.  The only problem about that day was that it was so cold, and again as it happened to me in the past years I was not prepared for it.  Other than that it was sunny and people were crazy trying to take pictures. In my experience, I will recommend going early in the morning when it is less crowded because the nice spots are always full, also, have enough time to be able to spend there to really appreciate the blossoms.
Every time I go there, I always hope to be able to come back next year.

Is incredible to think that when we have things near to us, is when we appreciate less. Is like we do not care, because they are there in front of us. I am very lucky to have some of the museums that are very famous in the country , and they are just 20 minutes from the place where I live. A lot of people travel from far away, just  to see the different art that these museums offers, and the best part they are free! and even that I don't go often. I try to go at least once a year, and most of the time in summer time. My recommendation when we go to the museum with kids, is go to the National Museum of Natural History or the Air and Space Museum. At the same time, These museums are so big, that in my case I have never covered every gallery that these museums offer. This year I went with my son at the beginning of August. In this time it is a bit crazy, because the kids are still on vacation, so the parents try to take the kids to this kind of places. Besides that, the weather is hot in this time of the year, so you will have to have a lot of energy to do the trip. When I go to Down Town in Washington DC, I always use the metro, because drive, and find a good spot to park is almost impossible. At the end, I think it is more enjoyable  by metro. I got some pictures that a took this year, a lot of the galleries are different or new, because they always try to have new things.
